Parent Workshops & Consulting

Homeschooling Parent Workshop

If you are just beginning your homeschooling journey or have already started but have questions, our Homechooling Parent Workshop is for you. I walk you through the questions most asked by homeschoolers. These are questions that have been asked to me most frequently during the 8 years I have been operating Lakeside Learning Garden, our community's only homeschool curriculum resource center. I cover Indiana State requirements, curriculum choices, teaching methods, learning styles, questions about testing, costs involved in homeschooling, organizational tips, socialization questions, socializing opportunities in our area, concerns about transitioning from public or private schooling to homeschooling and I also address why and how you can be your child's best and most important teacher. In addition, I answer any other questions you have to meet your family's individual needs.

Cost for each 2 hour session is $30.00 per person / $45.00 per couple. Space is limited to 6 people per session to meet the needs of my clients.

Session times and dates for 2014 to be announced.

Individual Consulting Sessions

Individual Consulting Sessions are also available. In addition to answering all the questions I address in our homeschooling workshop, I can help you set up lesson plans, explain grading methods and strategies, help create rubrics, use free resources, give suggestions on setting up your physical learning environment at home, answer questions about homeschooling during the high school years, explain how to handle teaching children at several different age/grade levels, keep great records, help you find special needs resources, deal with burnout, teach you how to use portfolios for assessment, and write transcripts.
